The Ensuring Equal Justice Pro Bono Initiative (EEIJ) honored its volunteer attorneys today at a breakfast reception at the Law Offices of Greenberg Traurig, in Downtown Miami. The Miami-Dade Public Defender, Carlos J. Martinez, PD-11’s EEIJ Liason, Sarah Wood Borak, and Justice R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court, were proud to recognize some of the top trial lawyers in Miami-Dade County for their efforts in representing indigent clients on behalf of the Public Defender’s Office.
Maggie Arias, who is a former Assistant Public Defender and currently, our criminal defense associate in the Miami office location, was honored with a plaque in appreciation for her invaluable hours of pro bono legal contribution in her capacity as a Pro Bono Attorney Volunteer with the Law Offices of Carlos J. Martinez, Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.
